Welcome / start here

Grok Gadgets is an independent, Apache-2.0 ecosystem exclusively for Grok. The local alpha connects a software device simulator through an MCP gateway, with separate Linux and ESP32 SDKs and a Home Assistant integration recipe. Our first hardware target is AtomS3 Lite C124. Physical verification and actual existing Grok Bot integration are still pending. Start with the canonical getting-started guide when public destinations are approved.

Contribution guide

Choose a labeled issue in the owning repository, agree on acceptance criteria, run its checks, and submit a bounded change. Documentation and tests are welcome. Use evidence labels accurately and keep credentials and household data out of reports. Contributor recognition is opt-in and requires ownership proof for both accounts and an eligible merged contribution.

Prototype update

The local alpha includes simulator and MCP client acceptance, reusable device SDK work, C124 compilation evidence, upstream Home Assistant fixture checks, and a source-driven website. Exact results and commits must be inserted from the final verification manifest before publication. These results do not establish hardware operation or actual Grok desktop/mobile connectivity.

First build / help thread

Share your board model, host OS, component versions, transport, expected result, observed result, and redacted error. Say whether the evidence is simulated, compiled, actual Grok, or physical. Never post tokens. Beginners can begin with the software simulator before buying hardware.
